protecting: patron and provider

Link to Film

Visitors to the ‘protecting’ area of the exhibition are welcomed by St. Luzius, the pa-tron saint of Liechtenstein. Indeed, the figure of St. Luzius is a recurring theme in this area focusing in particular on the Middle Ages. Humans’ search for safety, security and protection defines their behaviour and the way they see the world. The objects on display in these rooms cover themes including faith in the Baroque period, sacred items, church archaeology, the history of local rule in the Late Middle Ages, dwellings, coins and the risk of war – all connected to the central concept of humans’ quest to protect and be protected.
